The Gastro-Intestinal Task Force Asia Pacific (GITAP) Society was formally registered in Malaysia towards the fourth quarter of 2017, consisting of eleven representatives from eight Asia Pacific countries.

The primary objective of the society is to focus on training and improving the level of endoscopy (EUS) expertise among gastroenterologist in the Asia Pacific region.

The EUS Taskforce Asia Pacific (EUS-TAP) and Women In Gastroenterology Network Asia Pacfic (WIGNAP) are two subgroups under the umbrella of GI-TAP. Each of the subgroup focuses on niche requirements in the field of EUS.
